Our trailers are rubber-sealed against weather, road grime and rock chips. 2.1m of internal clearance means most exotic and tall-built vehicles fit comfortably. We accept cars down to 50mm ground clearance, which open carriers and most enclosed operators won’t quote.

Every truck is driven by a Macqueen. Same person from the first phone call to the unloading ramp. No call centres, no offshore intake teams, no broker reselling your job to whoever turns up.

Our base is Melbourne. Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast all run on regular schedules. Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton run monthly. Sydney to Melbourne is a 24-hour move when the lane allows.

HOW IT WORKS
Our Interstate Car Transport Process
1.
Get a quote
Send us the make, model, year, condition, pickup suburb and drop-off suburb. Photos help. We'll come back with a flat all-in price.
2.
Lock the date
Once you confirm, we book the lane. East-coast jobs usually leave within the week.
3.
Door pickup
We load and strap the car in front of you. Soft straps over the wheels, no chassis tie-downs, walk-around photos taken.
4.
Transit
Photo updates if you want them. The same person who picked the car up is the one driving it.
5.
Door drop-off
Walk-around photos at the other end. Car unloaded carefully, handed over, paperwork signed.
OUR ROUTES
The Interstate Lanes We Run
East-coast weekly: Melbourne to Sydney, Melbourne to Brisbane, Melbourne to Adelaide, Melbourne to Canberra, Melbourne to Newcastle, Melbourne to the Gold Coast, Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast.
Regional north Queensland: Melbourne to Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton runs monthly, paired with return loads.
Regional Victoria: Mildura and across regional Victoria runs periodically, often paired with Adelaide or Sydney lanes.
Bass Strait (Tasmania): Hobart and Tasmania-wide on request. We co-ordinate the Spirit of Tasmania crossing as part of the door-to-door price.
Cross-Nullarbor (Perth): Perth runs are occasional and pre-planned. If you have a flexible date, the price drops significantly. We don’t do last-minute Perth.

Interstate Car Transport FAQs
Open carriers move cars exposed to weather, road grime and rock chips, usually two-deck with multiple drop-offs. Enclosed transport runs the car inside a sealed trailer for the entire journey. East Coast Towing & Transport runs fully enclosed, rubber-sealed trailers only. We don’t quote open transport.
Sydney to Melbourne is a 24-hour move when the lane is running. Melbourne to Brisbane and Melbourne to Adelaide typically run within two to three days. Cairns and far north Queensland are scheduled monthly and quoted with a delivery window rather than a fixed date. Perth runs are pre-planned and we agree on a date range at booking.
Yes. We carry winching gear and load non-runners, project shells and partially disassembled cars regularly. Tell us at quote stage whether the car rolls, steers and brakes so we bring the right kit. Non-runner loading is quoted up front.
Yes. Our trailers have 2.1m of internal clearance and we accept vehicles down to 50mm ground clearance. We use loading ramps designed for low-profile cars and soft straps over the wheels, never chassis tie-downs. If you’re not sure your car will load, send us photos and a ride-height measurement and we’ll confirm before booking.
Tasmania on request. We co-ordinate the Spirit of Tasmania crossing as part of the door-to-door price. Perth pre-planned only. If your dates are flexible, Perth pricing drops significantly. We don’t run last-minute cross-Nullarbor jobs.
Cover is in place for the vehicles we carry. We’ll confirm policy details and cover specific to your vehicle’s declared value when you request a quote. Higher-value classics and exotics may need declared-value confirmation before pickup.
Enclosed transport carries fewer cars per trip, the trailers cost more to build and maintain, and the loading and securing process takes longer. You’re paying for the vehicle to arrive in the same condition it left, with no weather exposure, no rock chips, no rotating cast of handlers. For classics, exotics and prestige cars, the price difference is small relative to the vehicle’s value.
