Classic Car Transport Across Australia

Enclosed, owner-operator transport for classics, muscle cars and hot rods. Interstate and across Victoria. No depots, no brokers, no open trailers.

EAST COAST TOWING & TRANSPORT

Your classic only gets moved once. Move it properly.

A 40-year-old car carries 40 years of original paint, trim and panel work you can’t just re-spray back. Open carriers expose all of it to weather, road grime and stone chips for the whole trip. Depot-based fleets load and unload it three or four times, by people who’ve never seen it before.

We don’t work that way. Every classic goes inside one of our two purpose-built enclosed trailers, sealed against the road, and stays there from your driveway to the destination.

Bailey runs the front rig. His brother Ash runs the second. You book with us, you talk to us, your car goes on our truck. That’s the business.

WHY CHOOSE US

Why Choose Us For Classic Car Transport

Enclosed protection for original cars.

Our trailers are rubber-sealed against weather, road grime and rock chips. Original duco, delicate chrome and 50-year-old trim arrive the way they left. No stone chips on the bonnet, no road film over the paint, no surprises when you open the trailer.

We load classics that don't run.

Barn finds, resto shells, partially disassembled cars and project classics that won’t roll or steer. We carry winching gear and load non-runners regularly. Tell us at quote stage whether the car rolls, steers and brakes, and we bring the right kit.

Owner-operator, end to end.

Every truck is driven by a Macqueen. The same person from the first phone call to the unloading ramp. No call centres, no offshore intake, no broker reselling your job to whoever turns up.

The auction houses' regular carrier.

We’re the regular enclosed carrier for Burns & Co Auctions, Chicane Auctions, 782 Motors and Australian Muscle Car Sales. We’ve moved a genuine XW Falcon GT-HO Phase 1 and a VK Blue Meanie. If you’ve won a classic interstate, we’ve probably moved one like it.

Enthusiast-run.

We’re at MotorEx and Summernats every year. We move the cars we’d want moved carefully ourselves. Shelby Cobras and GT500s. C2 Corvettes. Deuce Customs ’32 Fords. A ’57 Bel Air. We know what’s sitting in the trailer.

Flat pricing posture.

Our price is our price. No upsells at the door, no fuel surcharge tacked on after pickup. If your car needs a declared-value confirmation, a Bass Strait crossing or a priority window, we tell you up front.

What We Move

What Classic Cars Do We Move?

If it’s a classic, a muscle car or a hot rod, it’s the kind of car that rides in our trailers every week. Here’s the sort of metal we move.

Australian muscle and classics. Holden Monaro and Torana (LC/LJ, SLR/5000, A9X), HQ through WB Holdens, Ford Falcon GT (XW/XY GT-HO, XA/XB), Valiant Charger R/T, VL Commodore, plus later HSV, FPV and Maloo utes. We’ve carried a genuine XW Falcon GT-HO Phase 1 and a VK Blue Meanie, both sold through Burns & Co.

American muscle and classics. Ford Mustang (first-gen and FoxBody), Chevrolet Camaro, ’57 Bel Air, Corvette, Shelby Cobra and GT500, Dodge Charger, Pontiac GTO and Buick Riviera. We’ve moved a C2 Corvette and a ’68 Riviera among them.

Hot rods and customs. Deuce coupes, street machines and one-off builds, including a Deuce Customs ’32 Ford. If it’s hand-built and irreplaceable, it belongs inside an enclosed trailer.

European classics. Porsche 356 and early 911, Mercedes-Benz SL Pagoda, Jaguar E-Type, Austin-Healey, MG and Triumph.

Japanese classics and cult cars. Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32, R33, R34) and Datsun 240Z, Nissan Silvia, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7 and Honda NSX. We brought a Silvia from Cairns to Melbourne for one owner who wanted it moved properly.

Don’t see your car here? If it’s a classic worth protecting, send us the details and we’ll quote it.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Classic Car Transport Process

1.

Get a quote
Send us the make, model, year, condition and whether it runs, plus the pickup and drop-off suburbs. Photos help, especially for original or project cars. We come back with a flat all-in price.

2.

Lock the date
Once you confirm, we book the lane. East-coast jobs usually leave within the week. For high-value classics we'll confirm declared value before pickup.

3.

Door pickup
We load and strap the car in front of you. Soft straps over the wheels, never chassis tie-downs, walk-around photos taken before we close the trailer.

4.

Transit
Photo updates if you want them. The same person who loaded the car is the one driving it, the whole way.

5.

Door drop-off
Walk-around photos at the other end. Car unloaded carefully, handed over, paperwork signed.

OUR ROUTES

Where We Transport Classic Cars

We’re Melbourne-based and run both interstate lanes and jobs within Victoria.

Interstate, east-coast: Melbourne to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast on regular schedules. Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton run monthly.

Across Victoria: Auction and private-sale pickups around Melbourne metro, resto-shop transfers, and runs out to Bendigo, Mildura and regional Victoria. If you’ve bought a classic locally or you’re moving one between workshops, we run those jobs too.

Tasmania and Perth: Tasmania on request, with the Spirit of Tasmania crossing co-ordinated as part of the door-to-door price. Perth pre-planned only, priced better with flexible dates.

Danny Stratford

“From my initial contact with Bailey to the delivery of my vehicles the service was outstanding. He took great care with everything and kept us informed along the way even putting the cars in the shed for my wife on arrival. Bailey is a credit to classic and prestige vehicle transport and I highly recommend his service.”

Kevin

“Bailey was a machine moving my Supra from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast just in 2 days. Enclosed trailer inside was immaculate with rubber seal all around and the cars inside traveled along the journey must have the most comfortable ride. The car arrives spotless and never been happier with the service. Thanks again Bailey 🍻”

FAQs

Classic Car Transport FAQs

Yes. East Coast Towing & Transport runs fully enclosed, rubber-sealed trailers, so original paint, chrome and trim are shielded from weather, road grime and stone chips for the entire trip. Open carriers leave the car exposed the whole way. For an original or freshly restored classic, that difference matters.

Yes. We carry winching gear and load non-running classics, project shells and partially disassembled cars regularly. Tell us at quote stage whether the car rolls, steers and brakes so we bring the right kit. Non-runner loading is quoted up front.

Yes. As well as interstate east-coast lanes, we run classic car transport around Melbourne metro and out to Bendigo, Mildura and regional Victoria. Auction pickups, private-sale collections and resto-shop transfers are all standard jobs for us.

Yes. We’re the regular enclosed carrier for Burns & Co Auctions, Chicane Auctions, 782 Motors and Australian Muscle Car Sales. Give us the auction house, the lot details and the drop-off suburb and we’ll handle the collection and the run.

We use soft straps over the wheels, never chassis tie-downs, so there’s no load placed on the body or suspension. Walk-around photos are taken before we close the trailer and again at drop-off. For higher-value cars we confirm declared value before pickup.

Melbourne to Sydney or Adelaide is a 12 to 24-hour move. Melbourne to Brisbane is typically 24 to 48 hours. Cairns and far north Queensland are scheduled monthly and quoted with a delivery window. Perth is pre-planned with an agreed date range.

Cover is in place for the vehicles we carry. We confirm policy details and cover specific to your car’s declared value when you request a quote. Higher-value classics may need declared-value confirmation before pickup.

Send us the make, model, year, condition (running or not), pickup suburb and drop-off suburb. Photos help. We come back with a flat all-in price and an indicative pickup window for that lane.
